A new procedure table was granted to MCHS-Fairmont. The current table they had was over twenty years old and parts to repair the table were no longer available.
Dr. Tim Sheneman focuses on Osteopathic manipulation practice which he provides at MCHS-Fairmont. Osteopathic intervention focuses on joints, muscles and spine. Intervention can help treat arthritis, back pain, headaches and postural issues. Due to the increase of patient traffic, an additional exam table and percussion hammer has been added! Adding a second exam table / room, will decrease disruptions and lag time between patients for cleaning of the room which will increase workflow.
The project consisted of new flooring, paint and removal of a bathroom to allow for appropriate safety exits. Currently, the care of outpatients with COVID-19 symptoms is being provided in the new space. Data indicates the need for COVID-19 testing will continue over an extended period of time. Because of this, and for the comfort and safety of patients, the decision was made to embed testing into standard operating processes, which required a location to replace the drive-up testing.
This space will greatly serve patients and provided a wonderful work environment for employees.
Providing comfort and safety. Employees of the local hospital received a grant for the purchase of prescription eye wear glasses. These glasses provide increased visualization, improved comfort and reduction of fog appearing on glasses due to wearing a mask.
